I'm generally charming when I get drunk. I make excellent paprikas & goulash & toasted coconut cake & devilled eggs & sloe gin fizzes. I'm...someone you'd probably like to get to know. Really. I speak many languages badly. And I like crazy folk-psych music and (good) crime fiction.
My Ideal Person:
Someone with a diabolical sense of humor is a plus. A sly bibliophile would be nice as well. Eminently makeoutable, why not?
The last great book I read Phineas Poe trilogy by Will Christopher Baer, nightmarish noir like Raymond Chandler on lots of drugs Beyond Black by Hilary Mantel, a severely obese medium confronts ghosts (metaphysical & actual)
My most humbling moment Cheating on my 2nd grade multiplication table test. The student with the highest score (me) was to be awarded an Encyclopedia Brown book. After I had gone to the head of the class to collect the prize, my teacher, Mrs. Ream, asked me (somewhat belligerently) if I had forgotten something. Racked with guilt, I froze & almost confessed my heinous crime...but I had just forgotten to say 'thank you'.
Favorite on-screen sex scene Any scene from Le Samourai with Alain Delon, though he doesn't have sex with anyone.
The celebrity I resemble the most I've been told Keith van Horn from the New Jersey Nets (or whatever team he's on now, minus a foot or so). (Also Johnny Depp from my somewhat insane stalker friend.)
The best or worst lie you've ever told: 'I haven't done any drugs, officer.' (while naked, except for a wig, in an overcrowded hot tub outside of Santana's former house)
If I could be anywhere right now Going down the insanely long escalator at the Moskva Ter station of the Budapest metro and smelling the freshly baked apple fritters awaiting me at the bottom. And later, the pleasant voice telling me to beware of the closing doors.
Five items I can't live without a really good pen my books & records (I'm counting that as one) my cats Edward & Oliver my apartment (I'm a bit houseproud) bourbon
In my bedroom one will find... a crazy Van Gogh-esque sunflower painting I found in an alley weird fantasy-art varnished wood thing many half-read books orange walls
