I’m a former literature scholar who works in the financial markets, and plays guitar, programs computers and performs stand-up comedy in my spare time. I am a pretty good cook and a much better baker. I jump out of airplanes in the summertime and swim in Lake Michigan on New Year’s Day. On a Saturday afternoon, I'm more likely to be found in an art gallery or out hiking than in a sports bar ... and I am more likely to wake up early than go to bed late. I love animals and hate bullies. I live to create, to learn and to explore. I believe Chicago would be better served by being surrounded by mountains rather than cornfields. I can be a little shy around strangers, but once I get to know you, I am a great conversationalist and even a better listener.
My Ideal Person:
I'm looking for someone who has something to say and isn't afraid to say it ... especially when it's something funny. A bias towards the road less traveled is also very much appreciated, as is a love of music, underdogs and chocolate cake paired with champagne. Optimism, honesty and a willingness to talk about anything are also very welcome.
Do you have trouble telling the difference between a crazy idea and a dare? Me too. Let's talk.
The last great book I read "American Salvage" by Bonnie Jo Campbell. This is a collection of short stories that focus on people living on the fringe of Midwestern society. This same author has a second excellent collection of short stories as well as a novel to her credit.
My most humbling moment Delivering what I *think* is an absolutely hilarious joke on stage at some comedy club and having it die completely. Is this mic on?
Favorite on-screen sex scene That's a tough one. As strange as it may sound, the movie "A History of Violence" had some very steamy scenes (especially on the stairway) ...
The celebrity I resemble the most That's a tough one. When I was younger, I was told that I look a little bit like a young Orson Welles or John Belushi.
The best or worst lie I've ever told I am probably the world's worst liar. Honestly, I find it difficult enough to keep track of what is true in this world to be bothered with keeping track of falsehoods, too.
If I could be anywhere right now Since I lived in the Caribbean for almost four years, I'm not looking to live in paradise again anytime soon. It's overrated. Honestly, I am pretty happy where I'm right now. Sure, the weather in Chicago could be a bit more accommodating but the array of cultural and social activities available here is awesome.
Five items I can't live without My music, my cat, my health club membership, my job and my sanity.
Fill in the blank: _____ is sexy; _____ is sexier. knowledge is sexy, you in your little black dress are much sexier.
In my bedroom one will find... My bed, a number of different books, my three computers, my CD tower, shoes, two suitcases full of clothes that have been open for 18 months (long story) and a closet filled with expensive shirts that are too big for me now.
